According to recent reports, singer Chris Brown was arrested yesterday on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. His arrest followed an hours-long standoff with police who responded to a woman’s call for help from his home in Los Angeles.

Police Lt. Chris Ramirez of the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed authorities were transporting Brown from his home to downtown police headquarters to be formally booked.

Earlier in the day, Ramirez claims several people were escorted from the residence after a search warrant was served. The woman who made the call for help at 3 a.m. was not inside the hilltop estate, and Ramirez did not identify the woman or provide details about the assistance she needed.

Shortly before the warrant was served, Brown’s attorney Mark Geragos arrived at the home. Multiple media outlets reported that Brown pointed a gun at the woman before she was able to escape.

“No shots were fired…right now that’s all we have,” the LAPD told reporters.
The 27-year-old singer posted two videos on his Instagram account from inside the house, acknowledging that the incident was taking place.

“So I don’t sleep half the damn night, I just wake up to all these mother f***ing helicopters, choppers is around, police out there at the gate,” Brown commented.
In another video, Brown denied the reported behavior, and instead blamed law enforcement.

“I ain’t did s–t. I ain’t going to do s–t. And it’s always going to be be f–k the police black lives matter n—er,” he commented. “I don’t care y’all going to stay playing with me like I’m the villain out here, like I’m going crazy. You guys got me f–ked up though because good luck when you get the warrant or whatever you need to do. You’re going to walk right up in here and you’re going to see nothing you idiots. I’m tired of f–king dealing with you all, y’all the worst gang in the world, the police, and I said it.”

The LA Times reports officers made an attempt to enter Brown’s house but were turned away and told to obtain a search warrant.

This is not the first time Brown has had trouble with the law for violent outbursts towards women.

What do you think? Does Brown deserve to be behind bars?
