On Monday, the panel on ABC’s The View discussed the Sunday morning terrorist attack in Orlando. Instead of directing their conversation toward the jihadist killer, they focused in on Second Amendment supporters and Christians.
Whoopi Goldberg was the first to bring up the tragic shooting, and the murder of singer Christian Grimmi on Friday. She asked co-host Raven-Symone what she thought about the two incidents.
“Where are the gun laws?” Raven-Symone asked, after briefly praising America’s ability to come together after a tragedy.
Joy Behar also chimed in, claiming that people on the U.S. no-fly list can still buy “assault rifles.”
“What is wrong with people in this country?” she asked.
Goldberg then went on to claim that Americans are “misreading” the Second Amendment and not understanding the Americans’ right to bear arms.
“The Constitution doesn’t say you can carry hundreds of guns,” she commented. “It says you can protect your home, it says you can protect yourself.”
Goldberg then turned her attention toward the audience.
“All you people on Twitter that like to come after folks, back up, because you can’t explain this. You can’t explain this away…” she commented. “There’s no reason for anybody to have a machine gun…Keep your stuff to yourself. I don’t care what you think. Back off me. I don’t care.”
Goldberg ended by blasting Americans, calling them “ignorant” about the LGBT community.
