Legendary actress and voiceover artist Janet Waldo reportedly passed away on Sunday morning at the age of 96-years-old. Waldo was best known for voicing the character of Judy in The Jetsons.
The popular cartoon series ran from September 23, 1962 to March 17, 1963. The show continued to run on repeat for decades, with several new episodes being added between 1985 to 1987 as part of The Funtastic World of Hanna-Barbara. It can still be viewed on Amazon to this day.
Throughout her career, Waldo voiced many Hanna-Barbara cartoon characters, including her role as Josie in Josie And The Pussycats. She also played several roles in The Flintstones.
Waldo continued working into her late 70s, with one of her final roles being a guest spot in 1998 in the adult animated TV series King Of The Hill.
Her very last role was as Penelope Pitstop in a Wacky Races video game. She was 80 years old at the time.
Waldo’s daughter Lucy told reporters that her mother was diagnosed with a benign but inoperable brain tumor five years ago.
